Sunday, May 25th, One-day workshop from 10 am to 4 pm.
Info: An intro to slip as a surface decoration. We will cover traditional techniques (feathering, dotting, slip-trailing, marbling, Mishima, sgraffito), and more contemporary techniques (stencils, monoprints). We will talk about different approaches to applying slip, and use hump molds to work with patterned slabs. This workshop is hands-on. We will work on fresh to leather hard clay.
Small slabs will be provided for trying techniques, but bring fresh clay if you want to work larger and/or some leather hard objects
Level of experience: must have taken at least one beginner pottery class or equivalent level
Age: 16 +
1/2 hr. for lunch :) Bring a lunch
