About the event

Info: An intro to slip as a surface decoration. We will cover traditional techniques (feathering, dotting, slip-trailing, marbling, mishima, sgraffitto), and more contemporary techniques (stencils, latex resist, monoprints). We will talk about different kinds of slip applications, and using hump molds to work with patterned slabs. We will work on fresh to leatherhard clay.

To Bring:There will be time for students to try techniques out so they are encouraged to bring some leatherhard pieces to experiment with, and some fresh clay for making patterned slabs and trying out molds. If they have bisque or plaster hump molds, that would be welcome too!

1/2 hr. for lunch :)
