This 6 wk, intermediate class will explore projects that alter basic wheel forms into something new. We will survey various techniques for altering thrown work including darts, spouts, attachments, reshaping. and making compound pieces by combining more than one thrown form.
week 1 - Recap of throwing strategies for basic forms: Bowls and cylinders
week 2 - Spouts and handles
week 3 - Altered rims: hollow rims and flanges
week 4 - Rings and slabs: oval and square dishes
