About the event
Sundays Jan 8th to Feb 26th 4:30 to 6:45pm, 8 WEEK (pre-requisite Beyond the Bowl- Part 1 Building Intermediate skills). Exceptions can be requested to instructor. contact Patti at pmcneice@shaw.ca before registering.
This is a class aimed to introduce the student to pottery craftsmanship. Class will provide structured lessons to further develop micro-hand positioning and tool competencies to achieve alternating contours and larger shapes, create different rim types (e.g. flared, rolled), practice wet and dry trimming techniques to compliment form aesthetic, discuss different firing methodologies, introduction to compound structures and working with coloured clay fabrication.
Finally, two classes will be devoted to enhancing your decorating techniques at both the greenware and bisque stage.
You should have a solid grasp of the fundamentals, meaning that centering your clay should feel intuitive, and you can throw a consistent cylinder with even wall thickness. There is a waitlist being taken= email; pmcneice@shaw.ca.
