Mid-temperature, smooth, plastic, semi-vitreous, native functional stoneware Plainsman M340 clay is a mid-temperature, smooth, plastic, semi-vitreous, native functional stoneware. It is made from a combination of A3 and B stoneware materials, which are also used in other bodies like H-550 and L-212. M340 is known for its high dry strength and consistent parent materials, free of foreign particles. It has a medium plasticity and feels smooth, with some distribution of particle sizes in the plus 200 mesh range, which provides channels for faster drying. This clay is suitable for various forming techniques, including hand building, slab building, and wheel throwing. Once shaped, it requires slow and even drying, and once completely dry, it is ready to fire in the kiln. The clay fires yellow-buff in color and is recommended for wheel throwing and hand-building.

Middle temperature, smooth, very plastic, white-firing, semi-vitreous, refined material body for functional stoneware. M370 is Plainsman Clay's most popular white burning clay. M370 is semi-vitreous (it is somewhat porous at cone 5-7). Compared to similar competitor bodies, M370 is whiter (because it uses more kaolines and less ball clays). It is white enough that the powder is a good base for slips and engobes.

CKK6 is a mid range cone 4–6 porcelain (2167–2232°F) with a smooth texture, grey wet color, and white firing color, showing about 11.5% shrinkage at cone 5. It is suitable for sculpture and large wheel thrown work and is available with optional paper pulp or grog for added structure.
