Increasing the scale of throwing clay on the wheel is often viewed as a intimidating prospect. Peter will demonstrate and demystify the process by which he centres and creates pieces on the wheel weighing up to 20 pounds.

Techniques for scaling up the quantity of clay used on the wheel and how to physically adjust one's throwing style will be discussed and demoed. In addition to larger scale throwing,

Peter will also demonstrate repetitive throwing of similar sizes of plates, bowls and mugs, By pushing the limits of one's skills on the wheel participants will learn returning to making work already in their comfort zone will be that much easier to handle.

For finishing, work will be turned and trimmed using a variety of methods.
