About the event
Sundays Nov 5th to Dec 17 4:30 to 6:45pm, 8 classes (Dec 17th- combined #7&# 8 class)
This is a class aimed to introduce the student to pottery craftsmanship. Class will provide structured lessons to further develop micro-hand positioning and tool competencies to achieve alternating contours and shapes, create different rim types (e.g. flared, rolled, fluted), we will make mini-pots by learning to "throw off the hump", introduction to compound structures (e.g. lidded vessel) and working with coloured clay fabrication.
Finally, two classes combined on final day for a "glaze-a-thon" decorating lesson. Devoted to enhancing your decorating techniques at both the greenware and bisque stage.
You should have a solid grasp of the fundamentals, meaning that centering your clay should feel intuitive, and you can throw a consistent cylinder with even wall thickness. There is a waitlist being taken= email; pmcneice@shaw.ca.
NOTE: Masks are now optional. Still sanitize…
