About the event

Wednesday,  May 15th to June 19th. 3:30 pm. 

This 6-week course will explore various methods and materials for decorating pots. We will explore various techniques for both texture and colour surface treatments including both handmade and commercial stamps, and mark-making. slip trailing, underglazes, slips, transfers, monoprints, screen printing, and sgraffito. This class will be suitable for both hand-building and wheel work with the focus being on decoration. 

week 1 -  Mark making, sprigs, and texturing.

week 2 - slip trailing and underglaze application.

week 3 - Monoprints and transfers.

week 4 - Introduction to slips and mason stains and screen printing.

week 5 - Sgraffito

week 6 - Glaze applications 

Covid protocols: Masks are now optional. Please bring your own apron and hand towels for cleaning up.

age: Adult 16 + 

Beginners and intermediate clay artists are welcome. 

Maximum:  8 students       Minimum:   5

6 wks: Cost: $ 210.00  plus GST $10.50 = $220.50

Clay is sold separately on the first day of class:
